How is my child being cared for?

If your child is being detained he or she is provided food, meeting the latest federal government standards for quality and nutrition. Children in secure detention are also provided two snacks each day. Each child is given a minimum of one hour of large-muscle group recreational activity time every day. A child may have more recreational time depending upon school classroom requirements. Children in secure detention attend school classes with licensed teachers provided by Fort Wayne Community Schools. Children are allowed to check out books from our library to read during non-recreational, non-classroom down time. In addition volunteers from the community offer mentoring, counseling, and haircuts as well as religious instruction on a voluntary basis.
